Orange walks and other walks-marches

Local town had 150objections to an approx 400person march against racism and bigitory (republican)....

Locals reported complaints such as the march interrupted their right to peace and infringed on their day to day business......march also co-incided with a football game and trouble was feared.

Can the same be said about the "orange walks" that i have To endure time after timein my town (which is predominately catholic-and well known for it)

Shouldnt this all be banned.

It's not enough for the Orangemen to march. They want to march through areas where they're not wanted. An example is the Ormeau Rd close to where I live. Some years ago gunmen from their 'side' shot up a betting shop killing 5 men. When the march passed within yards of the scene supporters were gloating and shouting about the five deaths.
If they marched in their own areas they could do so for as long as they liked.

I wonder if a time will come when these parades will be accepted for their entertainment value. ? We have Mayday, Viking and Druid parades which are pagan, many Christmas and Easter parades are adapted from pagan festivities. We have Guy Fawks bonfires and in some areas parades . The only person I heard who objected to the bonfire parade on religious grounds was Anne Widdicombe and she was RC. Until she brought it up in her TV programme I doubt if one in a thousand knew there was religious connection.
That a point do they have Guy Fawks night in NI ?
. We have learnt to live with our enemies despite wars over centuries but as soon as religion is involved the wounds are never healed. It seems to me , an atheist , that the more religious a country is, the greater is the intolerance.

Each parade will have its supporters and will also have people which do not like it.

When they have the Mardi Gras in manchester they do not block off one street they block off an area which you have to pay to go into or if you want to cross.
It causes chaos with the traffic but it is just for the weekend so people put up with it.

All i am asking is if you ban the Orange parade will the same people be happy with the gay parade banned.

I personally wouldnt mind gay parade. I would be uncomfortable if a gay parade was intentionally planned at a time or venue where it would antagonize people- such as the orange walk does where i live.
