Not sure what to make of this.

A woman posts on Fakebook that she has taken an overdose, and is going to die.

She is faking it (depsicable).

She has a fatal medical condition, of which she is not aware (tragic).

Not long after pretending she is going to die ... she dies.

Posting the status... Attention seeking or a cry for help (depending on your point of view)

The medical conditions... Unfortunate

Dying... sad.
I agree Pinki, it is a disgusting thing to do she might as well have impersonated someone.

I can hardly bring myself to say it "serves her right" though!

Spare.
FB has one hell of a lot to answer to JJ :+)
The expression 'Cry Wolf' springs to mind.
Serves her right?

She was obviously very distraught...
It isn't Facebook's fault Bobbi. A poor workman blames his tools - suggesting that the medium is to blame (rather than the person) is nonsense.

Spare.
It's not FaceBook....it's the users!!
I wouldn't say 'serve her right'. She obviously had a problem, mental as well as physical.
how many people have actually committed suicide after stuff happening on there ED?
anyway, different topic altogether
sorry JJx

A robust defence of online communications media ... by The Ed.

=0)
lol, yes its all FB's fault

poor woman, that is sad news
But she did take pills....just not enough to kill her. Doesn't mean the intention wasn't there...and anyone who intends to kill themselves is mentally disturbed...imo.
sounds like a cry for help - hardly despicable. (If that's despicable, what do you call paedophiles?) And certainly doesn't merit the death penalty, so it doesn't 'serve her right'.
This is personally tragic fot the woman concerned, and all connected with her - to say it 'serves her right' is particularly cold.

I think this is the inevitable downside of a mass communication culture - but the benefits still massively outweigh the downsides, of which this is sadly a high-profile one.

Despicable.

I wonder how many people 'liked' that status?
Judging by the experience of friends who have tried FB out, a sort of Gresham's Law may exist whereby the amount of rubbish drives some of the more thoughtful contributors off.
