Should clerics such as Dr Rowan Williams make political comments, especially when they do not involve religious matters, but are just his own obvious Labour held views?
If he wants to follow a political career, he should give up his lucrative career and put himself up for election.
However, I must agree with him on the coalition point, the electorate should have been given a choice, a hung parliament, a coalition of their choice or a new election.
I agree. He should stick to praying to the Almighty for deliverence from the national debt. And keeping his flock on the straight and narrow..........well Digs and Rooney and Terry etc.
As he is only stating a self-evident truth, I can't see it matters.
It's strange when politicians start spouting about people being unqualified to comment. As far as I'm aware, there is no formal qualification required to become a politician - just a large ego, an penchant for fiddling expenses, and the ability to convince people to believe your statements. Pretty much the same requirements as a rogue builder.
/// Someone in his line of work is already either deranged or a fraud, and he wears silly costumes ///.
That's it revert to insults, when you cannot post a constructive view.
One may not agree with his religion or the costume attached to his office, but surely by his very position he should be shown respect, without being insulted in such a way.
