Cowardly EDL member convicted for attacks on old men.

Darren Buck, 50, was involved in the demonstration with the far-right group in Halifax town centre on April 16.

Calderdale Magistrates Court heard how around 200 EDL members turned out for the demonstration which they claimed was in protest at two of their number being attacked the week before.

At around 2.30pm police reported that a large gathering of protestors were congregating outside The Plummet Line pub, Bull Close Lane, Halifax, and were trying to break through the police line.

It was at this time that officers saw Buck, a former sheet metal worker, acting aggressively towards the two elderly asian men.

no, he is a loser, he should have gone to jail, but why do many people moan and wring their hands when its pointed out in the paper, or on the news that asian or black men commit crimes, like the recent case of the asian men, who groomed young girls for sex, plied them with drink, drugs and then passed them around to their friends. While I have no sympathy with any such attacks as these, I feel I must add we do not know what these two Asians did to attract such an attack.

Also in the present time of lax sentences, it seems strange that he got such a stiff sentences for not actually committing an assault. .

After all he was only trying to punch the two men, but missed it seems.

Ap agree totally, unwarranted, stupid, mindless thuggery, but i am positive we are going to see more of this, not just from EDL but from the people they are supposedly opposing. Whether you agree with this statement or not, if you have mass immigration, as has occured in Britain, groups like EDL will spring up.
From a country of relatively few immigrants, some of course will point out we are all immigrants, but say specifically from asia, africa, from 1940's to now, the country has changed out of all recognition, and these white extremist groups will continue
to flourish, because no one has addressed the issue of immigration, governments have ignored it, or in Blairs time positively encouraged it, and now we are left with what exactly, a country full to the brim. EU now hold the cards, and we are a mess, so until someone has the balls to really sort out immigration then EDL and other extremist groups will continue to battle it out.

Amazing how so much sympathy is show for two elderly Asian men, who could have abused this guy or even assaulted him, we are not told, yet some on this sight regular abuse me and would most likely do much worse given the chance, according to the attitude they show towards me.

The group confronted police officers and briefly fought with them, leaving one officer with a head injury requiring hospital treatment, and three arrests were made.
Around 50 counter demonstrators from the far-right English Defence League gathered nearby but officers kept the two sides apart.
The protesters said they were from a group called Muslims Against Crusades.
They gathered near Hyde Park in London before burning a model of a poppy on the stroke of 11am then marching along Exhibition Road and along an underpass, past the Victoria and Albert and Natural History Museums.

We lambast white youths who desecrate war memorials, or pee on them as one drunken moron did, yet tolerate this.

No i don't, but if i spoke out do you suppose i wouldn't be castigated and likely thought a racist. i wonder why no one seems to do anything about it. I have watched footage of any number of these Muslim extremists, those that live here, and wonder how they get away with it. And the same can be said for the EDL who are proving to be just as stupid and vile.
