Cowardly EDL member convicted for attacks on old men.
// An ENGLISH Defence League member who threatened two elderly asian men has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Darren Buck, 50, was involved in the demonstration with the far-right group in Halifax town centre on April 16.
Calderdale Magistrates Court heard how around 200 EDL members turned out for the demonstration which they claimed was in protest at two of their number being attacked the week before.
At around 2.30pm police reported that a large gathering of protestors were congregating outside The Plummet Line pub, Bull Close Lane, Halifax, and were trying to break through the police line.
It was at this time that officers saw Buck, a former sheet metal worker, acting aggressively towards the two elderly asian men.
Officers said he was seen trying to punch the two men but he missed and was consequently arrested. //

So the fact that a couple of young Muslim men burnt poppies (a matter I don't intend to address here) somehow absolves this gonk from attempting, and failing, to hit two elderly Asian men, who may have fought in the war themselves?

JTH perhaps, but if this was the USA and you set fire to the American flag, you would likely end in jail. As a supporter of the RBL, i do my bit, but i don't care for these rabble who spit on our way of life, and even if they have a grievance over our presence in Afghanistan, can't see how this is allowed.

He had just fallen out of the pub. My reading was he was probably very drunk. It is certainly not clever to attempt such an attack while being watched by the police. As for AOG's remark that the old gentlemen could have provoked Buck in some way, the attack was witnessed by the police, he was arrested, went to court and convicted. If the attack was self defence, he would not have been arrested or convicted.

Zeuhl, so called civilised people looked the other way when that was happening, and many people look the other way in Britain, over the problems we face through cultural differences, not to do with the colour of the persons skin. I looked at some video of riots in Harrow, the EDL, relatively few in number, were there protesting about the building of a new mosque in Harrow, and the police were out in force, but over a 1,000 asians turned out, so who's right and who's wrong, you tell me.

How could the police possibly hear what exchanges took place unless of course they were standing by the side of Buck?
Apart from that do you honestly think that if the tables had been reversed, and it had been an Asian who had been seen 'ATTEMPTING' to hit an EDL member, the police would have have arrested the Asian?
Taking into account the police's strict instructions to operate a 'softly, softly, approach towards certain ethnic groups, I don't think so somehow.

During these Skinhead away`days, it is the police's job to watch two sides very closely.
Do you have any evidence the police have strict "instructions to operate a 'softly, softly, approach towards certain ethnic groups"? Who is instructing them and why?

/// Certain people (normally bigoted idiots themselves) will squirm away trying to defend the indefensible (young men attacking Asians).///
Come on sp who are these certain people, name names or are you afraid you might get into trouble with the Ed, for using such offensive terms.
Young man attacking Asians??????
The man was 50 hardly young, plus the fact that he did not attack those Asians, in fact he didn't harm a hair on their head.
Much, much worse takes place outside clubs and pubs, but really anyone is arrested unless of course someone is badly injured.
So in this instance it is you sir that is the bigoted idiot, DrFilth's definition of a bigot, fits you perfectly.
