In the light of his son being killed in the Birmingham riots, no one can imagine what he is going through, he tried valiantly to resuscitate his boy without success, it is he that will be shown as a pillar of his community on the red tops and the broad sheets, not the scum that were responsible for the mindless thuggery , turning in on their own communities.

Always at times of adversity, there is a shining light to remind us that the human race is fundamnetally decent and caring.

I have to say, this man is showing more dignity and compassion that would i in his circumstances. the thought of trying to save one of my girls leaves me cold and frightened.

Agree with everyone's comments here, it's good that this is highlighted after all the bad things written over the last 5 days. How the gentleman kept his composure and dignity after what happened to his beloved son I don't know. He is to be admired and revered and one would hope his example would be followed in any circumstances.
