“...support the Head of Environmental Sustainability in delivering a range of projects to fulfil the School’s Environmental Policy commitments in particular in halls of residence.” (Do they mean a caretaker?)
Just what do they achieve? Who benefits from them? Who suffers if they are not done? What private sector concern would waste huge sums on such nebulous activities which nobody would miss if they were not done?
The country is supposed to be skint. Its armed forces are being pared down; its police forces are undergoing massive cuts to budgets; pensioners must wait longer for their pensions; nurses, police officers and firefighters have their pay frozen. But we can afford to pay the best part of £40k pa to give somebody “...your chance to take the lead in Hackney’s Olympic and Paralympic Unit on all cultural aspects of input and support for the Games and subsequent legacy...”
That’s what ridiculous.
