These are the type of people we have spent approx. £1.75b on, and now stage one is over perhaps a few million more in the future.

Was it worth it and would we allow our young to witness such morbid scenes?

/// Acting prime minister Mahmoud Jibril said today that investigations into who shot Gaddafi were continuing.///

Perhaps he should first put an end to this 'macabre ogling'?

Barbaric I call it.

em10 LOL...I should have said " we in the West haven't".....;-) thanks em.
You DID say that, didn't you??
ichkeria.....LOL...just put me out of my misery.
I thought what Sqad said was clear enough, I don't know how em got tyranny in Carnaby St into it
it reads as though we haven't for 50 years, implying that we had before that.
But Libya has or at least Gaddafi was in power for 42 years. Now he's gone what now.
ichkeria!! step away from the gun!!!!
because 50 years ago, would make that 1960's.

/// How many of these 'freedom-fighters' have you recognised from their visits to the UK? ///

What a ridiculous question.

It would be perfectly obvious to anyone else but you, that I am not referring to any one of them personally, but the peoples of their country.

And there are a good few of them already in this country, judging by the scenes of jubilation on our streets at the death of Gaddafi.

/// To our eyes yes - but Arab culture is very different in many
ways, ///

It is strange that if I were to say "they are different to us" I would have been accused of being 'racist'.
I would of much prefered a trial.
But we need to remember our culture and way of life is a lot different. True it is a gruesome and barbaric sight. Remember war is not sunshine and rainbows. It will soon be off the media and we'll go on with our lives....
There was a small and particular band of Libyans responsible for the summary execution of Gaddaffi.
You have high-lighted the actions of this small band of men and extrapolated that the entire nation must be made up of similarly barbarous thugs......who continue to be barbarous on the streets of the UK.
That, AOG, is because you have ridiculously racist notions and your inability to understand andy-hughes comments only throw it into ever more sharp relief.

Once again you seem totally unable to understand the simple basic point of this post.

In this instance this is not as you put it, "about the small and particular band of Libyans responsible for the summary execution of Gaddaffi".but about the peoples themselves.

See the headline:

/// Hundreds (including young children) queue to gawp at Gaddafi's body ///

So how can you possibly say that I have high-lighted the actions of this small band of men?
-- answer removed --
so when you said:

"Pity they don't accept that when they come to 'our' country."

you were talking about the "Hundreds (including young children) queue to gawp at Gaddafi's body".

if they are over there doing that, how can they be here not doing it?
Ok.....I'll broaden it out a little but the fundamental points in my previous post remain true.
-- answer removed --
Yes.

This post is like so many; so full of generalisations, nominalisations, omissions and distortions reading and responding to them is like picking up a greasy eel.

The jargon term for it is 'sleight of mouth'
