The above was in my local paper. As a dog owner myself I find it totally disturbing that little more than children have no qualms about murdering a defenceless animal. What are they thinking? What should we do with these savages if they are caught? What actually will happen if they are caught?

poor animal

how do you know they were yoofs tho?
blame the parents, then their parents and their parents...
Sounds like a robbery where they expectantly came across the dog. I know it says the dog isn't aggressive, but im willing to bet it was towards strangers entering the house in the manner they probably did. So in answer to your question, it's "nothing", as far as I know burglaries and theft has been happening for quite a while.

Glad the dog made a recovery though :-)
As far as i can remember from my father telling me there have always been a few odd kids within circles that were usually loners or had the younger kids follow them and who tortured animals, put debris on rail tracks etc...
Usually down to a lack of good parenting or by being involved with oddball peers.
What should we do, firstly find out whether the parents are to blame if they are we have to find ways of threatening them or helping them to become better more productive parents which will in turn help the poor usually latchkey children.
What will actually happen?
Probably a slap on the risk and then a huge public investigation once the child grows up and kills one or several people.
I agree.

Where does it mention Yoof or children?

eeeeeeeeeee
These users are correct kayless as it doesn't appear to mention anything about kids being the culprits though i'd guess that if it were teenagers or adults that were responsible they may be a product from the lack of parenting i previously mentioned.
That's a lot of guessing, madama....
Or perhaps a robbery where they panicked when they saw the dog as i've previously mentioned?

based on a psych profile i have had made (at great expesnive to myself) the perp will be white, male in his mid 30 to late 40's, have issues with his penis size and he also loves cars expecially big engines that go wrooooooooom wrooooooooom

oh and he has a problem with his aunty mildred who made him go shopping with her as a boy
Well my father works with broken and confused minds and stories like this are quite common so yes you could say it was an educated guess.
If you came across a dog as an intruder then you would've hurt the dog just to remove the threat, stabbing it 21 times tells me something a lot more darker was going on inside the intruders head.
a man should be okay with his penis size by the time he is 30s to late 40s surely??
Hooooo........:o)
I don't think kids are any worse than they were when i was one (I'm 50 now) Their antics are just more widely reported with much more access to national and local news. I remember 'yoofs' getting up to some very serious stuff but it wasn't worthy of a mention in the local rag, let alone a national paper or TV news program. Every action these days is dissected and analysed too much. innit;-)
Really? The youths have access to weapons and communication devices as computers and phones.
This makes them more savvy and potentially more dangerous if they are from bad ilk.
Given that there was enough noise to alert the neighbours and the fact that the article doesn't mention anything being stolen, I think it's probably a sound guess to assume a botched robbery. The dog wouldn't necessarily have been threatening, but I bet it made a hell of noise - and they seemed to have left pretty quickly after they silenced it. And as others have said, when the kind of people who break into people's houses panic, they usually do so violently.
no idea cazz, lets ask the men to comment
