I have a question, AOG.

You've been quite emphatic that the protestors here should have been cracked down on by police pretty much from the minute they set up camp.

Let's say, just hypothetically speaking (so please don't dismiss the question), that you thought they were right, or that their protest made a good point, or if you were even remotely sympathetic to its cause. If, say, they were protesting against mass (im)migration instead of against capitalism. Would you still feel the same way? Would you still be so eager to forcefully break them up?

I'd appreciate a direct and honest answer. Thankyou.

just like many i have seen on here, right on brothers, we are with you, except they are not, just as some have said, pontificating about something they know nothing about. The fact is nothing will be achieved by the protesters with the best will in the world, except some may catch cold, when the weather really turns. The bankers, people who work in that part of the world won't, don't care, and whether one likes it or not, London's financial centres generate a lot of capital, and not just for the bankers or banking industry.

I was there at the weekend. The camp is extremely neat and tidy, nothing that wouldn't have been allowed in my mother's living room, and a good deal better organised than the average scout/guide camp. Those I spoke to were friendly and polite. They got in the way of absolutely nobody.

Sometimes I wonder if ABers really know what they're talking about.

Yes you have asked me a fair question, in a very polite way, without the need to include any needless insults, so you therefore deserve an equally straightforward answer.

I maintain that from day one the protesters should never have been allowed to set up a camp on the City's streets, but they have now been there for over a month and the time is long overdue for them to be removed.

I have no issue against them protesting, even if their protest falls on 'deaf ears'.

As regards their protest making a good point, I along with many others are not quite sure what their point is.

In answer to you asking "if they were protesting against mass immigration, would I feel the same way".........My answer is yes if they set-up a camp in a similar way.

Now may I ask you a question, since it seems you are in defence of this protest camp site...........Would you also defend the right for a 'Right-Wing' protest group to also set-up their camp?

They have made their protest, and without the need for the council to take out any injunctions to have them removed, as this could take years (just as the illegal traveller's camp did), they should now be removed at once, before they erect barriers and scaffolding etc to protect their camp, what would you say then?

Incidentally I now hear that those travellers, returned to the site soon after, and the council will have to go through all that procedure once again.
