You're comparing apples with pears.

The rule in your post is about a banana's shape "class 2 bananas would allow any shape"

Eggs are always egg shaped, so I'd be surprised if they'd need to classed according to their shape
You could ask in the apotheosis thread for help, they seem to have a thing for bananas.... :-)))
Bananas and eggs, actually :)

"Egg grades
Eggs are graded according to their quality. There are three grades: AA, A and B. In our supermarkets we will find grade AA and A eggs. Lower quality grade B eggs are used in the commercially produced foods that we find in our shops and supermarkets.

It is not only the appearance of the shell that is graded, but the contents are also considered too. The eggs pass in front of a special bright light so that the contents of the egg can be seen. "

Additionally, bananas have been graded since the 1970s by the UK government, the EU was simply trying to bring the standards of each grade in line across the whole of the EU, so if you buy a grade2 banana from a supplier in spain it would be the same quality as a grade2 banana brought from a supplier in France, or the UK, or Greece... and so on.

But it did give all the mindless sheep that can't find out there own facts something to be up in arms about as they blindly believed anything published by the UK press.
I am currently working in Mauritius. The bananas we get are really small and tasty. These are probably not exported as I haven't seen in uk. Pity as I find bananas usually more than I want in one go.
Oh dear, seems some are desperate to be worthy and serious about something posted as a joke.
It wasn't a 'joke' as such, douglas.
Kayless posted this because his previous post about the 'madness' of EU regulations/diktats was shown to be fallacious.

So, if this post could say " yeah....but", it would.

Or, ner ner ner ner ner..........perhaps.
Kayless, you really need to go to Ab Editor
Thanks a bunch jackthehat, I must have missed a meeting. I hold my hands up for my slip. I hope for redemption on a peel.

Is R1 going to try for 3 out of 3.
I think he's arrived there already
Here's some selective reporting, as beloved by our press

//there is a kernel//

wrong - bananas don't have kernels :-)

sorry boxtops why do need to see the editor?

Yes well it was a bit tongue in cheek, I confess to some mischief here, the attitude of the Europhiles does amuse me, very Chamberlainesque!
R1, that link in my post (Ab Editor) takes you to the Apotheosis thread - we have a thing about bananas in that thread.
