Well someone commenting on the story below, put a whole new slant on this popular remark when he stated "The asylum seekers are now running the asylum".

Exactly how much money is it worth to track them down? (This is a serious question about cost-effectiveness in straitened times.)

jno entirely agree, but we must take into consideration, how much these 30 illegals will cost us in the long term?

maybe nothing. Some may come to sign on to the dole, but others come to work. We won't necessarily end up in the red.

Why is a foreigner allowed to make decisions on immigration policy. It is open to abuse from day 1. There must be thousands like him in the country who have the interests of others rather than be totally committed.

To stop further embarrassment they should go through all staff who may cause problems for the future. Human rights stop at home!

Reading that he could have let in thousands , he covered his tracks well and they admit they can not give a number as to how many visas he granted.
Mind you it is in the Daily Wail so there may well be another side to the story.
