In response to the ruling Liverpool Football Club released a statement saying: "Liverpool Football Club is very surprised and disappointed with the decision of the Football Association Commission to find Luis Suarez guilty of the charges against him.
We look forward to the publication of the Commission's Judgment. We will study the detailed reasons of the Commission once they become available, but reserve our right to appeal or take any other course of action we feel appropriate with regards to this situation."

Is it likely that they, or any other club, would have said anything else?

Ludicrous decision Am getting fed up of cry baby footballers bleating the race card and punishments dished out which don't fit the crime. Sure, someone shouldn't use someone's size, colour or sexual orientation to vent anger, but I fail to see how the punishment is 40k and 2 months suspended from your job.
The woman on a tram venting her anger is another stupid one. She'll spend time in prison at christmas for simply saying her piece. Yet weirdly nothing happens to all those that have given her death threats since her arrest.

I must admit to being very surprised at this decision. I believe it to be right, but I thought the FA would cop out. John Terry must be a worried man tonight.
Suarez more or less admitted it, saying that in his country, it is perfectly acceptable term. A very weak defence, I am not sure why Liverpool FC are that shocked.
