"trust a woman to make a stupid generalisation"

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/matt/

Genius.
indeed, very funny
Pugh in the mail usually does a good cartoon on topical subjects, better have a look to see if he has done one.
she's racist, elitist...a pretty normal politician! she should lead by example and resign - people have said much less about other races/creeds/colours/societies and been absolutely battered for it. as a 'white' i am ruddy offended - it's not like the colonies now, love, it's modern britain! a very different place and with very different issues. what if somebody had made a comment about black people and slavery in such a similar vein? people would be mortified and outraged....and ensured that person was vilified, hounded and made to leave a job that is just not suitable - given her past, current and probably future behaviour. she is dispicable x
She just played the 'race' card once too often. the expression is 'hoist by her own petard' for those unfamiliar with mediaeval warfare 'blown up by her own bomb'
She doesn't seem to have been able to hold down a job for long

1976-78 Administration trainee at the Home Office
1978-80 Race Relations Officer at the National Council for Civil Liberties
1980-83 Researcher and reporter at Thames Television
1983-85 Researcher and reporter at TV-am
1985-86 Press officer at the Greater London Council
1986-87 Head of Press and Public Relations at Lambeth Council

People who do not stay in a job for long usually fall into two categories.
1. They are ambitious and eager for the next challenge
2. They are rubbish and move before they are pushed
she won't resign i'm sure, but she should get a dressing down for making such an asinine comment.
If she had said 'white people are really nice' would that have been racist?
Flipfop, be honest, if you were her, wouldn't you have done the same for your children? She could of course have fiddled it (and then received even more stick) by moving to a posh area, or like Tony Blair, converted to catholicism and sent them Brompton Oratory School.
gromit, helps to be friends with the likes of Ken Livingstone, up the greasy pole, without touching the sides.
gromit....actually, i think she is a 'climber' who leaves before she gains any proper experience in a post. eventually, someone with a 'quick' track record ends up somewhere they really shouldn't be. that would account for her lack of knowledge, confidence and acumen in her opinions, expressions and professionalism. never mind the rest of the stuff she comes out with. she makes my toes curl whenever i clap eyes on her. there are quite a few people in politics who make me do that!
Khandro - No.

If she hadn't made the support of the local schools a central theme of her election platform, then fair enough (even though she wouldn't be toeing the party line), but she did and therefore sending her child to a private school was just simply wrong diddly wrong wrong.
By not sacking her Milliband has showed what a weak leader he is.
Morn to working class Jamaican parents she was educated at Harrow Grammar School for Girls and then went on to Cambridge to read History. I'm trying to find out what here A level grades were. It has been suggested that she benefited from 'positive discrimination' to get her place at university. I wonder what the outcry would be if a while politician described her as "a common little black girl from the suburbs.
I said previously if she had been a Tory MP she would have received more than a dressing down from her boss.

Look what happened to Adrian Burley for attending a party in which someone appeared in a Nazi uniform.

/// Labour called for David Cameron to sack Mr Burley, a senior aide to Transport Secretary Justine Greening, for bringing ‘shame on the country’. ///

http://www.dailymail....-picture-emerges.html

More hypocrisy from Labour, considering Charlotte Hale's Nazi salute and a senior Labour MP's appearance wearing a Nazi uniform during his Oxford days.
the media machine is working now. her days are numbered.

http://www.telegraph....black-passengers.html
which is quite ironic when you hear on that interview (posted a couple of pages back) how much expense she stacked up on taking cabs across london.
Beat me to it Ankou, I was just about to post that.

Seems funny that she says "Taxi drivers refuse to pick-up black persons" when she claimed £1,100 for taxis fares.

/// She was also criticised during the MPs expenses scandal, after claiming £142,000 in 2009, including £1,100 on taxis. ///
"Mr McNamara added: “She might have trouble getting a cab in the future and it won’t be because she’s black, it will be because she is stupid. I certainly won’t be stopping for her.”

I sometimes wonder if these people and the stories they appear in are made up :-)
Sounds like McNamara is a bit of a Tory anyway with his comments about the Labour leader.. What on earth the relevance of having "prayer rooms" in knowledge learning schools I wonder?
Methinks he protests too much.
The media witch hunt is certainly in full flight I agree.
you mean the white media machine, Ankoou.

A poll in the Voice, asking whether Abbott's claim (about dividing and ruling) was right, is currently split 50-50, which would I think not be the same if AB held a similar poll.
