I realise AB needs advertising to survive, but this position is pretty obtrusive.

The same as ummmm, I don't see any adverts so cant comment on that.
I do think it's rather pointless if you can set your own answer as the best.
Also my other concern is that groups of friends will tend to vote up their friends as best answer which will effectively signpost allegiances and draw up divisions within The Answerbank community.
It will end in tears...

People don't like change. They moan about FB changing. They moan about AB changing. By the end of the week we'll be used to it.

I remember when the 'latest posts' box was introduced...they moaned about that!!

It's almost turning it into a competition 'oh let's see if I get marked as Best Answer!'
I know we have to have the advertising but I would prefer it to be under the latest posts, over to the right and further down.

There was always an advert there Gromit, it was just horizontal. Same amount of ads on the page. It does happen that this shape/size pays a little better!
