Why should they demonstrate here?

Many condemn the EDL for protesting on our streets, (incidentally the recent Leicester one went off without any trouble), yet no one has so far condemned the Syrian protest that took place in London this weekend.

Why should our police be expected to put up with this violence shown towards them, from those who should not be in this country?

It seems that when it comes to the benefits they get from this country, they wish themselves as British, and yet when their politicians back home carry out acts that they disagree with they class themselves as Syrian but protest here on our streets.

If they feel so strongly about such matters, why don't they go back to Syria and protest there?

Well we all know the reason for that, they know what kind of treatment they would receive from their police and military if they did.

I agree that Syrian protesters should not be attacking our police. You can see why they're upset though. Effectively there's a civil war going on in Syria, with its government perpetrating mass murder on civilians on a daily basis, and the world is doing nothing about it.

That's because, following the trouble at the last Leicester EDL march in 2010, there were three police officers for every protester! Talk about wasting our taxes ...

Why did they cowardly choose to run away from Syria, there are many of their brave countrymen who did not, but chose to fight and demonstrate on their own streets

So if they then chose to cross over several safe countries to settle here in Britain, and seeing that we have welcomed them with open arms and cheque book, they should then turn their back on their old country, not make trouble in the country that has adopted them..

by that you mean 'no arrests' even though there were several skirmishes and most bars and shops were shut for the day. by all accounts the police did a marvellous job of herding them along the street and keeping law and order.

Lets not conveniently side track from my main reason for this question, by addressing the EDL issue only.

I was merely using the EDL demonstrations as a comparison of the two protests.

from your continued posts about 'foreigners' in the uk it seems you feel strongly about a lot of things related to them... have you thought of protesting yourself? just a suggestion ;)

Do I agree with the protest no, do I agree with the EDL marching in Leicester No.

These people have many friends and relatives in Syria, for whom they fear on a daily basis, maybe with a regime change many would return to Syria. I don't know.

You've got to remember this is the type of mob who will be taking over Syria if they overthrow the current regime and to cap it all we are on their side.

Our holier than thou attitude must have caused the same reaction in other countries when watching the student demos.
