Today February 6 marks the very beginning of Queen Elizebeth's reign, and also the sad loss of her Father King George V1.

Regardless of your thoughts about the Monarchy, has not our country benefited from her long and peaceful reign?

She'll be 86 on 21 April. I wasn't aware that she drank gin...
Gin and Dubonnet apparently
Whatever Her Maj has for a tipple, as an ex-soldier, I wish everything for her & her reign.... More power to her elbow!!

I signed an Oath of Allegiance - as did my Queen - it holds for life - both of our lives!

I'll hold a toast to her tonight..

Slainte!

Is it just me...?
Haha ............ Mark Rae salutes with tongue firmly in cheek ;o)
i was thinking it should be prost, or zum wohl...?
Yep - gin and dubonnet. I saw a documentary about her and Buckingham Palace a couple of years ago.

Tried it once.

Not pleasant.

It's benefited during it, not from it. Or not any more than any other monarch...

Having said that, I think the queen is fairly sensible. Insofar as she could have done, she hasn't really put a foot wrong in her whole reign.
I'll raise a glass to her. I wouldn't want her life.
our country^s history has nothing to do with the royalty , there or not !
Woo-hoo...another medal for my collection!
It's rumoured that she slapped Maggie Thatcher for using the royal "We" are a grandmother. Good on you missus!
