Does anyone know whether the British play this game more than the other participating nations?

The game runs in Nine countries - the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Austria - participate in Euromillions, with ticket sales from all of them going into the jackpot fund.

Yet, in the padt month, Uk players have won the jackpot 3 times each getting £40+millions. That seems too much of a coincidence. If the Brits comprise of the majority of players then it could explain why we keep winning.

Anyone know of any breakdown of which nationality plays and the number of participants?

Gromit, if you go to the euro mill website where you can check the results just under the millionaire raffle number there is a link to the prize breakdown.
It shows how much was won in the uk as against the rest of europe
"Is this news"?
I am probably the one who buys it in Spain and have won the princely sum of 20E once!! Says it all really :0(

because this is unusual (and just a statistical event) it has made the news. The euro lottery runs twice a week, we just don't hear about the other countries' winners.
I seem to recall for a long time the UK was never among the big winners, so as said above, it's just a statistical thing.

I'm not moving to Luxembourg then!
Haven't other countries been doing the euro lottery longer than the UK ?

Before we joined I remember a good few stories being about how Spanish villages won by clubbing together to increase their chances.
Don't the Germans do the €urolottery?
Seems to tie in with the British way of life of getting something for nothing (or almost nothing)
And the Greeks aren't in either - they have had their payout, I guess.
No sandy, you can not buy euro the lottery in Germany.
Even through the internet.
As far as I know, this law is still the de facto position of the German Federal government/State governments...

If you mean Euromillions, you can't play this online. In Germany there is a ban on internet gambling EXCEPT the Lottos organised by the states in Germany. This has been contested in the European Court. AFAIK they have recently ruled that Germany is in breach of EU competition law but this must still be corrected in German law and until then, you're stuck playing the German state lotto.
Does that also mean that other countries can't play the German lotteries ?
