Question Author
the last victim, terrible news for his family. I hope he has found the peace he deserved. RIP
Very very sad :-(
Question Author
i wonder what those people who had given the thumbs up to raoul moat think now, and i don't mean anyone on AB.
Very sad news indeed. RIP PC David Rathband.
Anyone who was a supporter of Raoul Moat will not care at all about this em.
Question Author
daffy you are right of course.
I agree - poor him and his family. It must have been a living hell.
Question Author
DT, i am sure that was the case, poor man, another life wasted, at least Moat is gone.
Exactly, the only person who will get recognition is Mr. Moat. Disgusting.
Question Author
Mr Moat should be forgotten.
Just read this online now. Poor poor man and tragic for his family. Let's hope he's at peace now.
He might be at peace. His family won't be :-(
Whilst I am extremely sad and sorry to hear of his death, and have the utmost sympathy for what happened to him, he has left behind a haunting and intolerable situation for his family, so it's his wife and children who I feel all the more sorry for to be honest.
How very sad. My thoughts are with his family.
Question Author
Nox, i agree mostly, but if Moat had not fired a gun intending to kill him, then this family would likely still be together.
Terrible news. I cannot add anything to what you have all said. I feel so sorry for his wife and children. Life must have seemed completely hopeless for him to have taken this step.
I don't think I'd want to live without my sight either.... poor man to have his world changed so terribly at the hands of one moron hope his family can take comfort from him being at rest
To be honest Em, the whole Raol Moat saga was an horrific tragedy from beginning to end. You had a dangerous man who asked for help saying he felt violent and pyschotic, a girl clearly terrified of him trying to move on, a mismanaged case by police and other agencies and then the fatal shooting of an innocent man, coupled with his girlfriend's injury and this Pc's blinding. This had an understandably deep affect on him, but the police were called to his house as he too had assaulted his wife. We have no idea if this was something which happened after his blinding or if he habitually lashed out at those nearest to him. His wife then left and tried to out things behind her too, so I think things must have been pretty intolerable for her to have done that to be honest, and clearly no-one else gave him the support he needed to adjust to his new condition and he took his life. I'm really heartbroken for pretty much everyone concerned in the whole sorry affair.
I've just read this very, very sad news. That poor, poor man. My thoughts are with his wife and children. RIP.
