They did, but I first want to be sure that anyone who's arrested is the right one or ones. The main reason the death penalty was abolished was that it became apparent that innocent people had been executed. Since then, innocent people have still been found guilty, but at least they remain alive to have their names cleared.
And then I still want to hear their side of the story. The judge will say the same.
Sorry, but one side of the story and what were they DOING in a park at this time of night, from what I read they were abducted around 10.00pm......hardly the dead of night for a 16 & 18 yr old - these comments imply that they deserved what happened!!
Hope they find those responsible and punish them as they deserve, as a mother and grandmother I can't even begin to imagine what the girls and there families have gone through. Sincerely hope that the the 18yr old recovers, and deepest sympathy to the dead girls family and friends. What an appaling thing to happen to ANYONE!
Sort of off-topic, but also in the category of "is hanging too good", take a minute to read about the Wichita Massacre:

This is a crime that got very little publicity outside of Kansas (I only read about it online after the fact), and, under other circumstances, might have qualified as a hate crime. Whatever you call it, just another example of how depraved humanity can sometimes be.
I agree with Ducati. I think hanging is too good for them. At the end of the day the survivor and Mary-Ann's family will suffer for the rest of their lives and I think that the abusers/ killer should be forced to as well.
I do think that it is a very odd case though, it has made me think of lots of questions i.e. why didn't the b&b owners question the fact the 8 people were sharing a room (and one of them a young girl)? Didn't the girls make any noise throughout the ordeal (ok they were drugged but for 6 hours?)? Didn't the guest house owners hear anything? The B&B was in a red light district - where there were no police on patrol? And nobody thought anything suspicious about 8 people in one car?
Also, 5 men have been released on bail, the 18 year old is helping the police but we have not had one description yet (as far as I am aware). I mean, are the men black or white? Did they have accents? Any names? Was the car hatchback or saloon?
I'm not sure the case is so cut and dried that a man will be hung and we know for absolute certain that he/ she was resonsible.
