Damn foreigners, coming over here, living at at our expense, can't get rid of them. Can we send 'em back where they came from? No, they were born here......
Those and pharaoh ants proved almost impossible to eradicate when I lived in a block in London. Their tropical relatives in Ecuador never seemed a nuisance, though an old traveller said that you always need a second pair of boots in the tropics. Not to wear. One boot to throw on entering the room, to scare the cockroaches away, and the other to hit any stragglers with! Don't suppose those species are a hazard to health, though.
