Why is it pathetic?
I think it is perfectly normal to want a sibling for an only child.

daffy - I think it is perfectly normal to want a sibling for an only child.

I agree with you.

And I agree it is perfectly normal for a child to have Mum and Dad - not 'Adam' and 'Steve'.
If you believe there is anything "perfectly normal" about Mr and Mrs Furnish, daffy, you must be living in a different universe to me.
Homophobia rules
I don't see a problem with the sexuality of the parents, I do have slight reservations due to their ages though.

canary - did you read any of the comments at the foot of the story in the link?
sir.prize... i was going to comment on your homophobic, kneejerk comments but you appear to have said it all with your one word post...

not sure why you refer to the ravings of the other lunatic bigots on the site - as though their nonsense is somehow important here?
They have one child with two homosexual parents, but to have two children is pathetic?

We read every day of neglected and abused and unloved children, and unfortunately they grow up (if they are lucky) to be neglectful, abusive and unloving to their own children.

Here we have two people who can afford to spend a lot of time bringing up children in (hopefully) an happy environment, and you are rejecting that because they are queer.

To prefer children are brought up in an unhappy environment rather than with loving foster parents, seems very queer to me.
'Pathetic'- yes, your homophobic, neanderthal stupidity could indeed be described as such sir.prize (and what a corker of an arrogant monkicker you have too).
New Judge, how are they 'Mr and Mrs'? The judiciary doesn't use the phrase for the partners in a 'civil partnership'. How did you decide that Elton John was 'Mrs' ?
Think I would have liked two Dads who wanted me rather than the Mum and Dad who didn`t.
sir.prize, I tried to get on your link but couldn't for some reason or other.
I agree with gness.
why dont this perfectly normal couple have kids the usual way, unless of course there is some medical problem preventing this ?
I agree it is perfectly natural to want a sibling for an only child, and David Furnish and Elton John appear to be loving parents and have the wherewithal to ensure their children never want for anything, so good luck to them.

But I must take issue with the default reaction of some posters who seem to think the opinion that children should be brought up by a man and a women is homophobic.

It isn't homophobic to hold this opinion, and anybody who thinks it is homophobic doesn't really understand what homophobia is.
which normal way for two blokes, baz?
Thats what i'm asking , if this "couple" are so "normal" then whats the problem.
[i]Here we have two people who can afford to spend a lot of time bringing up children in (hopefully) an happy environment,[i]

Regarding spending a lot of time with them, with these two's lifestyle do you really think they be able to afford very much time to spend with their children? No they will mostly be in care of a nanny and then when old enough sent away to a private boarding school.

Has anyone thought about the happiness of the children, rather than thinking about the happiness of Elton John and his partner David Furnish? Yes it's true the children won't have to want for anything, but money does not bring happiness.
Obvious the new italic system does not work, so back to my original ///
Loads of assumptions there, AOG.

Not all wealthy people palm their kids off. Most people actually love their children and want to spend time with them.

This is just another gay bashing thread.
No they will mostly be in care of a nanny and then when old enough sent away to a private boarding school.

That's the childcare system that made the British empire great: kids living at Eton while their parents ran the Raj. Is it now so bad?
