Madeline McCann

Apologies if someone has already started a thread about this but I wonder what your thoughts are on this.
Madeline would be 9yrs old now and it's 5yrs since she went missing.
If she was found and had been brought up by a loving family, would it be right to take her away from that family?
Taking into account that someone has broken the law by kidnapping her and should pay the price for that and knowing that if it was my child I would want her back, I wonder how traumatic that might be for the little girl.

The McCanns have tirelessly looked for her....they won't see her and think oh, she's happy, we'll leave her here
If she's found I don't think the trauma will be the first thing on their minds. I'm sure she will be given all the counselling she needs.

I don't want to be doing all the italics and brackets etc but ummmm when you said *they won't see her and think oh, she's happy, we'll leave her here* then I would have to say as JimmyCooper said is that they did actually leave their children alone while they went out with friends so they obviously think of things differently than you and I.
No, they should just be made to pay the fund the £2.5 million reward which other people have so kindly donated. That way they will now how they have made us all suffer, not just Kate and Gerry. We are all feeling for this little girl and that amount is just a fraction of what she is worth to us all as we all know that pets and children are priceless!
Evian you always seem to go from 0 to 60 in less than a second.
I was trying to make the point that most of us would want our children back and most of us would not go out for the evening and leave our children on their own so obviously they think of things differently and it's always possible that if Madeline is found that her parents might say what ummm said they are unlikely to say.
However having said that then yes I would say that leaving young children on their own is bad parenting but that doesn't mean I would want their other children taken off them.
They would have learnt by this awful mistake that they made.
