Grew up in london moved to Birmingham in 1995 still go back to see family but live there even if I could afford it... no thanks it feels like a pressure cooker about to blow all the time
I've had nearly 50 years of living in London, and the only thing I don't like is the cost of my travel card (£112...I mean, really).
On a serious note - hope this all ends with no-one getting hurt. It just sounds like someone reaching the end of their tether and actually going a little bit mad.
My daughter is a student at UCL and she was sitting one of her final exams 2 doors down from that building.
They were all evacuated part way through the exam and had to leave things behind. Luckily she had her house keys in her pocket. Doesn't know when she'll be able to collect her belongings.
cheer up, sp1814, you must be due a Freedom Pass soon!
I'm quite pleased the guy won't be driving an HGV around London, then. Lord knows what would happen if he got stuck behind a bendy bus (if they still have any).
In all honesty, it really wasn't that scary for shops and businesses in the surrounding area, (not in the actual office). The police have been very efficient. Ambulances have been diverted from attending UCLH. You can get to oxford street down the back roads. Loads of people stood round oggling for ages so I don't think they were exactly 'terrified'.
