I know cash is short but this is taking things to the extremes in a bid to get your money back.

But to be serious, who would wish to live in London?

What is wrong with London?

That's a biased comment of yours, AOG
Why are the police officers wearing masks? It all seems a far cry from Dixon of Dock Green days.
who would want to live in Birmingham, Manchester or Glasgow?

It could have happened any where - is your thread about the bloke or the city?
That could have happened anywhere.
Grew up in london moved to Birmingham in 1995 still go back to see family but live there even if I could afford it... no thanks it feels like a pressure cooker about to blow all the time
So. Did the chap get his money back?

I lived in central London for several years which was great fun at the time.

Marriage and children pushed us to the suburbs in search of more space and a nice garden.

Now we're further away, I enjoy my regular business trips into 'the smoke' but it's always nice at the end of the day to head home to the beach.
Why don't we add Hungerford, Dunblane etc to the list......

Sugar happens, it isn't a geographically specific.
Daughter lives in London, she thinks it's a vibrant happening place and is loving every minute.
about 10 milion people live in London AOG - do you believe every single word the Mail prints? It seems so.

It took a couple of hours, no-one injured and man arrested by the police. Job done.
by the way I live in London, always have and would not have it any other way
I've had nearly 50 years of living in London, and the only thing I don't like is the cost of my travel card (£112...I mean, really).

On a serious note - hope this all ends with no-one getting hurt. It just sounds like someone reaching the end of their tether and actually going a little bit mad.
wearing masks because of health and safety rules, simple as that.
A man fails a test, then can't handle being a failure. Someone needs to grow up - or maybe fail a bit more in life - it teaches self-restraint.
''it feels like a pressure cooker about to blow all the time''

Which part are you referring to... or are you just making a sweeping statement?
My daughter is a student at UCL and she was sitting one of her final exams 2 doors down from that building.
They were all evacuated part way through the exam and had to leave things behind. Luckily she had her house keys in her pocket. Doesn't know when she'll be able to collect her belongings.
cheer up, sp1814, you must be due a Freedom Pass soon!

I'm quite pleased the guy won't be driving an HGV around London, then. Lord knows what would happen if he got stuck behind a bendy bus (if they still have any).
In all honesty, it really wasn't that scary for shops and businesses in the surrounding area, (not in the actual office). The police have been very efficient. Ambulances have been diverted from attending UCLH. You can get to oxford street down the back roads. Loads of people stood round oggling for ages so I don't think they were exactly 'terrified'.
Who would want to live anywhere else?
Shouldn't he be killing prostitutes or something.
Mum lives in Battersea nr Clapham Junction, Sister in Tooting but travel to different parts when down there.... I just feel it's changed...
