Not sure I agree with this, it was in the papers at the weekend. I'm sure, though, that when I took my 11+ in the good old days, well 1965 actually, there was some sort of system of extra points for the younger children in the class. Does anyone else remember this?

I did my 11+in 1964 and I don't think that there was a points system then. Only 2 of us passed and we were the two youngest in the class so ha ha
Don't remember any 'points' system for younger children, though I do remember there being 3 intakes for primary school children during the year as opposed to the (usually) one nowadays.
I was one of the youngest in my class throughout primary and secondary school and consistently came top of the class. Not intending to sound smug or anything but, well, OK, I am being smug. I'm great aren't I? hahaha
I was the youngest in my class (16 Aug) & didn't do too bad at all - especially in English.
I was the youngest in my class (18 Aug 77) and there were no extra points for age when I did my 11+. I did much better than most of my older classmates at GCSE too.
