Referendum for UK re the mebership of EU
There seems to be much speculation amongst all the main political parties that there is a liklihood (yes really) of us being asked if we wish to remain in the EU. Would you wish to have the UK leave the European Union in an organised manner, as is possible, some time soon?

Despite "decimalisat ion" and " metrication" in the UK we have made no real effort to complete joining the EU in the last 27 years. We may have changed our coinage to decimal currency, but then stuck with the pound not the Euro. We may have gone "metric" for day-to-day measurements but still persist in using miles.

Brenden - don't think it's just Cameron and Clegg running scared, many before them have, remember Brown reneging on a referendum following the last summit of his tenure. They've all got their noses in the trough. Look at the power given to Kinnock and his family. Kinnock having been overwhelmingly rejected by the electorate in this country. Say's it all really, and we won't even start on Mandleson
Absolutely lets get out of this preposterous, corrupt, idealogical racket. Do we really need the begging bowl of eastern europe in our face at a time of such austerity in the UK. Dont believe the foretellers of an economic armaggedon if we withdraw - and watch, perhaps, how many others withdraw from the EU once one nation has the bo££ocks to make the first move.
It would be interesting to have a Europe-wide vote on how many countries want the form of Europe proposed, with Germany at the centre but also as the universal life-boat. It's possible that they will adopt a system under which all countries will have the same credit rating, with the inevitable winners and losers. The general opinion I get from my friends in Germany is that they too think this would be a step too far, don't confuse Merkel's ambitions with public opinion in Germany.
Well done Rupert Murdoch will be very proud of you all
I wonder why all the main political Parties want us to remain in the EU
Oh hang on I remember there's some sort of conspiracy theory isn't ther about them getting lots of money from it
or possibly just possibly they understand the benefits better than you do - you don't suppose they might know more about it than you do do you?
Why do you suppose the EU would allow us to leave and still retain favoured trading status?
If you were a member of a club and someone wanted to stop paying membership but continue all the benefits what would you say?
I love that reply about Merkel dictating to the EU - that's so back to front its hillarious - she's currently under so much ressure to guarantee European debts with Euro-Bonds she must feel like she just gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson! Some European dictator!
It's not about where we buy our lamb from it's where we sell our goods to and frankly New Zealand not much of a market.
Not only that but it would kill investment into the UK - We are more dependant on foreign investment than any other country in Europe.
I work for a very big US company and I can tell you they think "europe" they don't think "Britain and Europe" they set up shop here partly because we're in the EU. They wouldn't pull out immediately if we weren't but they'd start to move investment to our other offices in Holland and Germany and Ireland.
You just don't see the reality of the situation because you only listen to one side of the story run by newspaper barons like Murdoch and Desmond who hate the control that the EU has over them

You may have voted to join a trading block but that block changed and we had the choice of leaving or staying with the change
You know who to blame for staying with the change don't you - It was Tory pin up Margaret Thatcher who signed Maastrict which is where it started.
I don't know how you link the cuts with Europe
You and I and every tax payer owe over £2,000 each and that money has to be found
that money wasn't paid to Europe - it was to bail out Fred Goodwyn and the city boy bankers
That's 10 years worth of EU membership!

Disorderly or otherwise, I hope we can leave tomorrow. To think of the war with Germany and the loss of millions of soldiers lives all for nothing, and now they want to hand our heritage over to the Germans with a nod. It is all a waste of money. Every day we pour billions into the EU coffers. What about our sovereign Queen. She means a lot to many people in Britain, she will be relegated to 'Tourist interest'. I do not want to be ruled by President or Senators. I would prefer being defended by our own people than rely on the Spanish French Italians (no way).
Jake the peg, some of that money could be found if..1 they stopped all overseas aid. We give money to India & they have said they don't even want it. We give money to Argentina & look at the way they thank us. 2. they put a stop to all those companies that find some loop hole to avoid paying taxes. Billions are lost every year.
It is the EU that insist that austerity measures are placed upon us, whilst at the same time increasing their own spending. Pfffttt
