I can't find a link - sorry - but it was reported on the BBC Breakfast News this morning that a car park has opened in Germany which has wider spaces designated for women.

Now, I can't think why this would be, so would be interest in peoples thoughts!

Last week for example, female F1 test driver, can drive at speeds of 180mph but could she park it?
Isn't it the case that men generally are better with spatial awareness and so tend not to have as many minor bumps and scrapes as women? But on the other hand women generally have better peripheral vision and less aggression, so tend not to have the major accidents. And please note the use of the word 'general' here.

But I can't really believe that the bumps and scrapes issue is so bad that it merits separate parking spaces. I think if they introduced it here, I wouldn't be annoyed at any sexist implications, so much as a poor waste of public money. I'm sure the mayor could have found something more important to spend it on.
I'm better at parking than my OH. He's better at driving, but I think that's because he knows where he's going!!
They have training exercises for womens parking.... Dodgems

I'll get me coat ;o)
I like the idea of women having thousands of years' experience in chasing dinosaurs across the plains and then getting men to reverse them into small bays before killling them.
Well it was always Fred Flintstone behind the wheel and not Wilma, jno
true, and I don't suppose women were allowed to be Anglican bishops then either.
He seems to have done it for a laugh or a bit of publicity. Even if we accept it's true that women aren't as good at parking, why should the council care? I don't see how it's their concern that some people are more prone to shunting their car than others.
Depends what they are shunting them into Ludwig.

My Missus can't park for toffee(and she admits it), which is a bit of a problem as she has a 4x4. both my daughters that drive can park with no problem though.

she has just been looking at a new EOS. Apparenlty their is an otion to park itself.

That's a bit of a slur. It don't apply to all women just the older type who passed their tests in a more lax regime.
