I wonder if the landslip killed them or whether they suffocated? Either way, not nice.

Just seen report on TV news. It seems the car was severely crushed by the earth & bricks falling on it. This is why nobody was aware of it.
When I read the headline earlier, I thought it had happened in a foreign country. My thoughts are with their families.

I've just been directed to this thread.

The very stuff of nightmares. It just seems inconceivable this could happen in Dorset, maybe in the remotest parts of the Scottish highlands or the lake district.

Very sad.
i did have horrible visions of this poor couple trapped in their car and slowly suffocating in the dark, but it appears that their car was literally flattened by the landslide, so they would have known nothing about it.
