Abu Qatada is being held in prison pending a FRESH high court hearing in October over whether he can be deported to Jordan to face trial on terrorism charges.

Another hearing? Why?

Appeals have gone to higher courts; decisions made and then his lawyers appeal, and appeal, and appeal again.

Absolutely crazy. It's over seven years now.

Put him on the plane tonight, preferably a Hercules, empty in the rear compartment except for a bench

Open the back door at 15000 ft, somewhere over the Adriatic, and climb rapidly and steeply to 20000ft. Close door and return to England.
Ifwe do anything other than follow the strict letter of the law we make ourselves as bad as the terrorists.
A bench? you're spoiling him DT!

Yes ladyalex, very true. But surely there is something wrong with a system which allows repetitive appeals every time a judgement is made. The same applies to Abu Hamaz who is also detained and fighting deportation to USA.

I do not understand why it takes six to eight weeks for the panel to decide whether to hear the appeal.

As I said, frustrating and absolutely crazy.
We're keeping him for Rio 2016

It's wrong to make him go back to Jordan, you wouldn't make Peter Andre do it would you ?
isn't that Hamza , Elvis?

You fancy going with him M-T?
to visit Jordan - that's ok. Petra is beautiful and I am not talking the hidden city.

I'll settle for Queen Rania though.
So it is Mick, can't we chop his hands off so we'll win the doubles too
Well that or the Fjords.... decisions, decisions
Well said DT - like it.
At 13:32 that is .....
Hopefully when he is eventually deported, his free "everything" will be given to people who actually need it/deserve it.
