How amazing it must have been to be Mr Neil Armstrong.

oh no!!!

that has made me weep.
the end of a great man -- and an era.
One small step for man....one big step for US space dominance.
That`s a shame. I met him once. He was still travelling around the world until relatively recently.
bit unfair to the Ruskies, pdq.....

No, more importantly, a great ambassador to bring NASA into schools and establishing the legacy of interest there - he appeared at one of my daughter's schools........
Very sad news indeed - RIP a great explorer.
forgive me daffy.
in my shocked reply - i forgot to thank you for telling us.
sad..I remember that walk so well, we were going to Ireland on holiday the
next day. Hubby (boyfriend then) was staying at ours, he stayed up and
watched the landing, I think it was on until early hours.

RIP Neil
Shame, childhood hero of mine.
Oh no. I am really sorry to hear that. None of us will be over the moon to hear that I am sure.

Is he going to be buried in space as some people are?
RIP

Shocked? The guy was 82! Did you want him to live forever, can't be much of a shock surely?

Still, RIP Neil, was a great man.
ditto daffy and for once I will say r.i.p., though I think he had a full and satisfying life. will they accord him their equivalent of a state funeral?
RIP Mr Spaceman.x
A REAL hero. One of the few. RIP Mr Armstrong.

He had a very full and interesting life.

A true pioneer who I'm sure will be remembered for all time.
just reading his name brings back so many amazing memories of those Apollo days. It sure was a time to be growing up, it was all happening so fast.
as one of my heroes.

my avatar will now reflect my humble tribute to him for the next 24 hours.
