Ty for your comment on my "sermon" - later maybe "sermons" after my Part 2, lol. Understood and service ended - please don't forget to drop money in the begging tray! .
You make an excellent chairperson in this debate in trying to keep us rabble in order and stick to the point - great challenge on AB - well tied Sir. Well done!

There's no excuse for bad manners.
Exactly McM.
Agree. Nobody needed to cheer but booing makes us look stupid.
I think it was also disrespectful to the medalist.
Yep. Agree with that too.
It seems to be norm in this country to turn against the government pretty soon after they have been elected, and it not seen as 'cool' to admit to having voted for them or to support them.
I suppose our voting system doesn't help since the elected government always gets less than half the votes.
I don't think this happens to the same extent to people like Obama in the States
Yes I agree - disrespectful and embarrassing.
They should have slapped him round the smug self satisfied chops
IMHO

So upwards of 60,000 people are unanimously and simultaneously wrong to express their feelings?

First 25 seconds of this say it all

"So upwards of 60,000 people are unanimously and simultaneously wrong to express their feelings?"

No, they should just chose a more appropriate time and place.

Gt the message across though, didn't they EB?
Sorry I apologies I take it back - dont slap him
Do what they did to Edward 2 with a red hot poker
And I doubt very much anything like 60000 were booing.
I don't like him but I would not have booed. Silence is preferable in my opinion
Hmmmm, makes me wonder why he was asked in the first place.

Id be very surprised if whoever selected him wasnt aware of the reception he would get and thats exactly why he was picked...another political statement made by the olympics/paralympics organisors.
Why are politicians handing out medals anyway? Mostly so they can bask in the reflected glory of the success of the athletes, and garner publicity from the event itself.

Given the nature of the event, the paralympics, and the whole issue of disability living benefits,it is entirely unsurprising that Osborne was booed.Cameron got a mixed response when he met Elly Simmonds.I fail to see how hearing a group of people at the sharp end of some of this Governments cuts voicing their disapproval at one of the main architects of these cuts can be seen as "making us look stupid".
//Even former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who presented medals to swimmers earlier in the day, was treated to a full cheer from the crowd when his name was announced.//

Oh , the shame of it
He was unwise to attend.
Maybe Sir. But a medal ceremony is not about the person handing out the medals is it.
Many disabled people, their families and supporters feel that George Osborne (and the rest of the coalition) are responsible for the removal of disability benefits for genuine claimants.
They were hardly likely to welcome him with a standing ovation at the Paralympics.
