They only booed him, they cheered the medalists. Trust me if you can hear it that loudly on the TV the vast majority were booing.
He is leading this country in to a prolonged recession and blaming everything and everyone, apart from himself, for it. Far from making us look stupid it made it obvious.

@Gladian It would be far more interesting to address the points raised, rather than indulging in petty points scoring over trivial issues such as spelling. And your intemperate outburst calling those who do not share your particular political view "cretins" does nothing to further your own argument. You sound like a petulant child.
As best I can tell, watching the clip, the booing was directed at Osborne, and stopped when the medal was presented. The audience were clearly aiming their displeasure at the Chancellor, rather than spoiling the athletes moment of glory.
The people in that audience are intimately involved with the proposed changes to disability living allowance that are distressed and annoyed at some of these changes - they have a perfect right in a democracy to express their displeasure.As for a politician being embarassed in public - they develop thick skins very rapidly or leave politics. No need to feel any sympathy for them.

I have watched it.
I think they made it clear to the athlete that he was getting a bedal from an unpopular person ... which will have taken some of the gloss off his great moment. And also, when he was waiting to receive his medal, they were not interested in him, and only interested in scoring a political point while he had to stand there and wait.
