Ty for your comment on my "sermon" - later maybe "sermons" after my Part 2, lol. Understood and service ended - please don't forget to drop money in the begging tray! .
You make an excellent chairperson in this debate in trying to keep us rabble in order and stick to the point - great challenge on AB - well tied Sir. Well done!

//They were sports fans, and that's what they turned up for//

Well, in that case instead of casting the shadow of criticism over what has been a fantastic event, they should have left their politics at home and shown a bit more respect for the games, the athletes, the organisers, and their fellow spectators, by bringing a little dignity to the arena along with their sporting enthusiasm.

"tried" no "tied" grammarians.
he didn't expect cheers, only those for the athletes, doesn't that answer the question.

solvitquick - for your impish impudence I award you best answer. Help you towards your badge tally.
so that's what its all about, getting kudos on here to earn a badge, whatever next.
Seems that way, Em - but if I don't hop it I'll get no badges for cooking dinner! :o)

Bye for now.

Bye naomi - pop back soon.
can't wait. x
I used to play around with hearts that hastened at my call,
But when I met that little girl I knew that I would fall.

Poor little fool, oh yeah, I was a fool, uh huh..
She played around and teased me with her carefree devil eyes,
oops again sorry
LOL @ sibo, wrong thread again.
This is the unfair system of the Best Answer, as it seems to be, as in other threads, an answer that supports the OP's opinion.

Far from it sqad. Solvitquick's two contributions were way off topic; which indeed was pointed out.

The best Answer element means nothing - it's merely a little but of fun; hence the tongue in cheek reason for its selection.

Sqad - I believe the course of action re the AnswerBank System (fair or unfair) is 'All complaints to the Editor'.
Sqad - I see that Best Answers in news and other "debating" or "opinion" topics don't count towards badges. It would appear that Ed has put some thought into this! You only have to take part in the thread, not get a best answer. Source: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1167490.html
sir-prize........LOL....yeah! right.
Ellipsis, I am not going through 231 replies ;-) however it was my impression from the ED that BEST ANSWERS was one of the considerations for these badges.
Yes, it is in some categories, e.g. Body & Soul. But not News.
