Do not forget that Belgium is a bastard country, less than 200 years old, regarded by its neighbours much the same as the Irish were when England dwelt in a much more unenlightened age.
I am a weirdo as I've always found the situation in Belgium very interesting. An amalgam of France and Holland, to put it in very crude terms indeed, that shows a decreasing desire to remain united. Brussels is a beautiful city, apart from the blot called the European Parliament. You can almost hear the noise of expenses being sucked out of the taxpayer as you stand outside it. Perhaps they will get their accounts audited one day? The same day that I land on the moon with the current Miss World.
I would question just how impartial and balanced the report is, given that it comes from CBN, which is the broadcasting arm of the evangelical christian right. Looking at Dale Hurds reports, it is striking that the top hits are "islamification of Sweden, Paris, and now Belgium. If you type "Sharia Law in Belgium", the top 3-5 hits are all from Evangelical of Jewish websites.
Now, I am no fan of religion, especially the ones with the more fundamentalist adherents, but neither am I a big fan of the vilification of a whole section of society using the language of fear and the "every muslim is a terrorist" stereotype - and I would be especially sceptical of what looks like anti-muslim fearmongering from the evangelical right......

A quick glance at the history of the Kingdom of Belgium (created 1830) will reveal that it was, and is, an artificial buffer state created to unite the Dutch speakers of Flanders with the French speakers of Wallonia, thereby creating a barrier between the Netherlands and the French Kingdom (as it then was). They don't like each other, nor should they have any reason for doing so (the nearest parallel is the artificial division between Northern and Southern Ireland). In due course they will arrive at a (hopefully) peaceful separation.

Mike, what buffer state was created to separate us from our separated brethren in the south?

it't a bit early but look carefully at around 3.66 of this video you can see a London open top tour bus quite clearly, how if this was shot in Belgium would that be possible. Perhaps this bit was shot in London, so it's cobbled together footage. As to the people we have seen this already in the capital, posters up with Sharia Law for Britain, and the likes of Anjem Choudary spouting the same bilge. It would up to the politicians to do something in Belgium if they think this is a real threat.
The spokesman appears to be attempting to allay fears by saying ‘if you’re not a criminal, Sharia does not present a threat to you’, or words to that effect, and claims that in 1300 years of Islam only 60 heads have rolled. According to this, in Saudi Arabia this year alone, 57 people have been executed. People like him are dangerous – and politically correct complacency foolish.
