All I seem to hear in the news regarding school pupils is bullying / theft and the latest 'Happy Slapping' craze, all are linked to having mobiles in schools.

I don't ever remember needing a mobile phone when I went to school, why don't they just ban them in schools or least the ones with the camera / video option (which are pretty pointless anyway).

I don't think mobile phones are actually allowed in school, so I'm told.  But I think that only "over 18's" should be allowed to have video/camera phones if they can not stop this ridiculous happy slappy.  I think that they should make it illegal for all 18's to purchase these phones.  I agree with you though, when i was at school I had no need to have one...although, they weren't really the 'thing' back then.  I had my first mobile at 19.  Now I see my niece with a mobile at only 8 and I think it's silly.
It is illegal to have Happy Slaps on your phone as it is crime and can be used for evidence, the sooner we see tough sentences for doing them/storing them/distributing them the better
I just can't wait until one of these thugs slaps the wrong person then lets see how happy they are.how thick does someone have to be to assualt someone and then send it on as evidence.

I agree, complete low life.

Unfortunatley trionam, that would only stop the one from doing it. Muggings have existed for years. Many people have hit back and given the mugger what for, but it still carries on. But your'e right, what kind of dimwit films his own crime? Surely they must realise that by doing this they wouldn't have a leg to stand on if caught.

My mates and I were thinking of staging one where someone gets Happy Slapped and the victim turns round and knocks the slapper out cold. and ciculating that.

can u believe the happy slapper that filmed his mate shooting a girl in the leg with an air pistol??

A 16 year old Perth schoolboy has just found himself in court accused of assault.  After being bullied for 2 years he recently turned round and thumped another youth who had slapped him while someone else took a photo of the incident.  Fortunately the sheriff has taken into accout his previous good behaviour and he is likely to get off.........as for the bullies, well no doubt they will go on bullying, safe in the knowledge that if anyone fights back they are the ones likely to end up in court!!
My 13 year old sons school has banned mobile phones, but it doesn't seem to stop the kids taking them in, they either switch them off or put them on silent when in school. Doesn't stop them using them though, especially on the school bus........... :o(
