FB won't remove content by and large, the powers that be have said so over and over, and if it has that is amazing.
Funnily enough I was wondering, what with all the fuss about the extremist anti-Muslim film, and the recent calls for no more "sick" football chants, where we like to draw the line.
zeuhl, the adherents to the religion, by their very actions have shown not just in Britain but across the world that criticising Islam is a no no.
As to FB, there will be more pages set up i expect, you shut one day and there is another to replace it pretty damn quick.
zeuhl, so we have British Muslims chanting death to soldiers, baby murderers, rapists and that is just their opinion, wouldn't you say that was incitement to hatred.
I don't think we have freedom the way some seem to think, i wish we did.
"I would rather them rise to our levels of freedom, than us lower to theirs."

I agree entirely, but it shows how low many have sunk that they can think of someone like this as a hero, rather than the lowlife scumbag that he really is. Ditto Raul Moat.

Em, the chants you refer to could certainly come under incitement to hatred. Strange that football fans in Glasgow can be arrested and charged for singing unsavoury songs, yet these protesters are allowed comparitively free reign? That is not a defence of sectarian songs in any shape or form, merely a comparison to one another.

Anyway, telling people that sectarianism is wrong in this totalitarian manner is pointless, you have to tell them WHY it is wrong.
was the same with Raul Moat a few years ago. Morons have always been around, but like most things the internet gives them a platform.
rise to our level, and pigs might fly.
This isn't freedom of speech. It's trolling.
what is the difference.
It's nothing new it's just at our fingertips to spot these days because of the internet. When Harry Robets killed police in the 60's he had anthems composed which were sung around the terraces at football matches for years maybe they still sing them. You can't curtail people's freedom of speech because you don't like what they say, if you do you have well and truly shot yourself in the foot.
Trolls say/do things with the sole purpose of causing upset. The chances are this troll doesn't think he's a legend...just gets off on causing outrage.
so some can say what they like, when they like and no one will bat an eyelash. I don't believe that for a minute.
The guy should be sent street sweeping round camp bastion
As ummmm points out, a lot of these offensive items are actually trolls deliberately designed to get a reaction. In some cases a violent reaction. That being the case is it not correct to ban them or try to? I don't have a ready answer to that but it's an interesting question
ban them fine, but they just pop up in another guise.
"Harry Roberts is our friend... he kills coppers"
A chant used to taunt the police in attendance at football matches for nearly 30 years, till people forgot who he was.
for everyone 1 person who thinks he's a legend theres several million more hoping he'll die soon.
you are so right ^^
It's probably some spotty teenager hiding behind a keyboard.

Mike, was covering a League Cup Final not that long ago, while it was still at Cardiff, and we went to see Bristol City v Blackpool the day before. My friend and I heard this in a pub not that far from Ashton Gate.
