After reading numerous reports of stabbings, gun crime, and gang warfare, etc, among young blacks, it is so refreshing to read this report of a very brave black lad who burst into a burning house to rescue this infant.
Well done Nelson

AOG is highlighting an act of bravery - why the sarcasm?
friedgreento mato - I assume you are a black male teenager given that you feel insulted.

Problem is, aog, that you dio not post this as a fine example of bravery of one of the youth of today, or of the British people, you posted it in the context that one black lad is unique or unusual among black lads and only black lads. "See, amazingly, there are some good ones" is the message suggested, though unspoken in terms.
Otherwise, what was your point in posting this story?

When I read this article earlier my first thought was too, it's nice to see a young black boy proving that they are not all gun toting hooligans.
We all know that all black kids aren't like that but young people in general don't get much of a good press most of the time so it's nice to see a change.

ummmm
/// Why mention colour, AOG? ///
Are you for real, surely it is not now illegal to mention colour is it, why have you a problem over this?
But in case you don't quite get it, I will try and type slowly to explain it to you.
Young blacks are often criticised for their gang culture, stabbings and shootings, and I often show concern about this problem, why only last week another one was killed, and a 15 year old girl and a 17 year old boy were charged with the boy's murder.
And today I read that a young black boy carried out a heroic rescue, so why not also give a good report on his bravery.
See the reason now why I had to mention the colour black, see the connection black bad deeds and black good deeds?
Why do I bother?

As I'm sure you are aware I never said or even implied that you used the word 'coloured', I was referring to your critisism of my use of it,
///actually not quite PC///
and the fact you then consider it OK to use similar to make your point.
Yet again you are twisting the facts to make out you are being hard done by.

No, No, No, that is only your twisted mind-set interpretation of it, you cannot possibly read my mind, you can only put your slant on it.

Because I thought this lad's actions were commendable and worthy of praise.
Since you appear interested in mind reading, I will have a go myself. I know why you lot are upset over this, it is because you didn't spot the story first, when you could then yourselves have posted a thread on the lines of "I notice AOG hasn't posted on this, if it had been a white lad he would have done so."
You lot are ever so predictable.

I checked and re checked your answer flip_flop and can't see anything untoward so that it is also removed.
But then I should have put it before the panel of PC judges, just in case.
Oh dear, Oh dear, flip_flap I have re-read your answer and it contains the words black male teenager, now really was there any need to put black?
