It's worth bearing in mind that the only evidence that matters is that from people who allegedly were directly affected.
Comments such as "I saw him in the flesh once and he seemed dodgy to me" are completely irrelevant.
sp How long ago was the Louis Theroux documentary aired? If recently I might see if I can find it. Were there any suspicions/suggestions of any unsavoury behaviour by JS in the film?
It's been a couple of years ago now, ladybirder.
In answer to people who say why didn't these people come out with their allegations at the time I would say if it had happened to me as a 12/13/14 year old I would have been terrified. This mega important person, in young eyes, who would believe me. I will be in big trouble if I say anything. As a grown-up - I would have shouted it from the rooftops. So I can totally understand why they kept quiet and once one speaks, others find the courage to do the same in the hope of getting closure.

I was about to say that it was about five years ago. Howeverm I've just checked and it was actually aired in 2000. Unfortunately, it was a BBC documentary, which means it won't be on iPlayer any more (were it a CH4 documentary, you'd have better luck getting it n 4oD).

It's impossible to say why I got the impression he was 'a bit dodgy' - I just thought...no...not dodgy...creepy is a better word.

Yeah, creepy.

So when I subsequently heard these rumours about him, I suppose my immediate reaction was, "Well, that figures..."
Look at the post in CB.
Just been looking for the Louis (from 2000!) video and found this:

All your points are completely valid. And you're right - its so easy to rewrite your opinion of someone based on rumour...

My own mother swears blind that there's 'something dodgy' about Valerie Singleton.

Her proof?

The way she rode a bicycle once on Blue Pete.

I'm not making this up.
God only knows.
There is no God!
"Her proof?

The way she rode a bicycle once on Blue Pete."

Now that you've said that............

Never did trust her!
lol SP...

jno posted in another thread that there were allegations while he was alive.
The allegations were around when he was alive.

I don't think what he did for charity has got anything to do with it. If he had abused one of my children would I have thought, ah never mind, he did loads for charity?
I think the suggestion was that he might have been doing charitable work to assuage his conscience.

So?
>>What a stupendously stupid thing to say
>>Nothing encourages anyone to be a paedophile, ever

Why is it stupid.

As I said, Britney Spears dessed up as a schoolgirl singing "Hit me baby one more time" !!!

The pop world has always had a sexual allure about it and many people are attracted to that world.

One of the first managers of Take That was gay and he pushed them into the gay circuit at first and made pop videos of them rolling around half naked in jelly.

Dont you think he got some "kicks" seeing half naked 18 year old guys rolling around the floor covered in jelly.

Of course he did, and it is probably what attracted him to being in the pop world in the first place.

I think you must be vary naive if you dont think people are attracted to the pop world for the easy availablility of star struck young boys and girls.
Jimmy Savile set himself up as a saint. That's the difference.
neither. paedo......x
