She seemed a bit shocked when i said the little girl might not come back.
Of course I am wishing for a happy ending too cant imagine what parents are going through.

Even princesses misbehave - ask Diana or Kate....
I agree with the sentiments expressed, ours would have been in bed at that age on a school night, maybe not asleep but on their way. I used to be work in mountain rescue and then an outfit called Equus in the Southern States, geared at mobilising large numbers of folk to look for missing kids or folk with dementia etc, based off a local church in the vicinity and working closely with the Police; the last one that I was involved, as a team leader, with was a 16 year old who was murdered by someone in her school just "mucking around with a gun".....the Police found her just before we did as we were heading over with 150 folk to search the area where she was found.....
Perhaps there's a need in this country for such an organisation. The money raised went to some rescue equipment but especially things like model aircraft equipped with infra-red sensors that allowed us to cover vast tracts of open land quickly, sending folk into hot spots.

There is only one person to blame here Gromit and that is the sick **** that took her, I don't know where you live but by 7.30 at night it is pretty dark here in Essex let alone further up the country.
And I stand by what I say, my kids would have been in bed at 7 when aged five and on a school night no matter how light/dark it was. Others do it differently I know.

A child of five needs 11 hours sleep per night. Assuming she goes to the village school at 9am she would need to get up at about 8am. Therefore she could go to bed at 9pm and still have the right amount of sleep and get to school.
Sending children to bed very early is probably more for the patents' convenience. Letting children play out while it is light is good parenting not bad.

There does seem to be some confusion over whether it was 7 or 7.30.

Now they're saying "around" 7, so not really sure by the sounds of it.
