Shadow foreign secretary Douglas Alexander dodged questions about Mr Miliband’s personal wealth.

I'm unsure it is a standard held by socialists that everyone must tell everyone else what saving they have. It neither helps nor hinders attempts to make a fairer society where the rich should help the poor. Not that the Labour party have stuck to that along for quite some time now.

Quite right. The statement “My understanding is that, unlike David Cameron, he does not have additional income that will take him over the threshold.” was presumably a 'refusal to deny' and conveyed in BSL.

The point is the Boy George, Cameron et al are always being slated by Milliband jnr for their wealth.

If Red Ed is not wealthy, come out and say so.

And Jake, though Miliband may not directly state the "property is theft" many of his supporters (ie Union Paymasters) do believe in that concept (Except for themselves of course)

The are always crowing on about the Tory boys and their wealthy backgrounds, quietly omitting any reference to some in the Labour party not being short of a bob or two. Milliband is just one. Funny that their father is a Marxist, i didn't think that was part of the remit of being one.

The majority of Labour politicians only make a point about the wealth of their Tory opposite numbers (particularly recently) in the context of their appearing not to understand the concerns of less well-off people, who seem always to be hit hardest by Tory cuts.
Where the double standards would apply is if those same Labour politicians did not think that their own wealth should be taxed in the way that they advocate other people's wealth should be taxed.

(Still trying to get my head round "refusal to deny" (!) )
