Can never imagine the great Premiers of the past acting in such a way, in actual fact their spouses generally stood insignificantly in the background.

Didn't Tony Blair boast in an interview with The Sun that when the mood took him he was a 5 times a night man?
The staid sobriety of Gordon Brown is much missed
I have absolutely no idea why this photo - of Cameron kissing his wife Samantha- would be a cause for offence.

Please articulate exactly what it is that you feel disapproval of?
"...as did indeed the spouses of the Soviet leaders. Who can remember seeing a picture of Mrs Khruschev or Mrs Brezhnev?
well I dont, a little bit over the top from someone who is a world leader, in theory anyway.
< ...in actual fact their spouses generally stood insignificantly in the background>

Yes. Just in front of their mistresses, their colleagues' wives and their favourite rent boys.
Shocking!!!

A man kissing his wife!!! Disgraceful...
Doesn't bother me in the least..................quite a nice photo of them both actually. Definitely better than some I've seen of Berlusconi and Sarkozy.
Oh please!

Look at me - Look! _ I'm a familly man! I'm Kissing my pretty wife! - Photo opportunity!!!!

If you hang around I'll feed burgers to my kids to prove they're safe!!

Seriously using your familly to promote your political message is pretty crass!
Did the Gummer children all grow up to become healthy adults?
Edward Heath would never have done anything like that ...

Well, I don't.......it leaves me cold and to answer your question....no...the great Prime Ministers of the past would not be seen kissing their wives in public.

That was THEN....this is NOW.

Today we have to see ministers rushing to work with their coats over one arm and a plastic cup of coffee in the other hand......denoting that in his busy day, he only has time for a quick cup of beverage.
We need to see our "leaders" being one of US...wife, kids, job and understanding the plight of the electorate..........in some way that makes them more electable.

I don't want to see my leader as "one of the boys"....beer and sandwiches at number 10.............but...........a different world AOG.
They have mad cow disease?
forcing a burger down your kids throat a la gummer at the height of the BSE crisis is crass and crude.

Kissing your wife on-stage at a conference? I really see nothing to get exercised about.
Nice photo' where was it taken (apart from out of context) was it in their home, their garden or somewhere more public because as it stands there's nothing wrong with it.
Great - we might be able to scare off that idiot Mitt Romney.

Send him that picture and tell him it's how the British PM greets all foreign dignitaries.
I agree its's disgusting. He should be snogging Boris.
"Definitely better than some I've seen of Berlusconi and Sarkozy"

Do you know something we don't ??
