/// Meanwhile Rio Ferdinand defied his manager’s wishes by refusing to wear a T-shirt backing the ‘Kick It Out’ campaign. ///
/// But despite United kitman Albert Morgan standing at the tunnel entrance with the T-shirts, Ferdinand refused and warmed up before yesterday’s game against Stoke in his normal United training top.///
/// Ferguson stated: “We are disappointed Rio didn’t wear it.
“Every player in the country should have adhered to the PFA request.
“He has let us down. We will deal with it, don’t worry about
that.” ///

White on black is racism, black on white seems to be acceptable to the powers to be, because the white British are the minority they no longer count. Good old Political Correctness
"White British a minority?!!!" Since when?
How is one black player calling another black player a "choc ice" the "worst form of racism"?
The above statements do not conform to any kind of reality except one of acute victimhood.
Ferdinand and the other players who chose not to wear the Kick Racism Out T shirt are adults living in a democracy and as such, are perfectly entitled to make this sort demonstration, if they feel the campaign is not living up to its ideals.
If Ferguson wishes to punish Ferdinand. thats up to him and the clubs disciplinary rules.

I don't know if you're aware, but both Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand are at least 50% white!
And with regards to Rio Ferdinand's decision not to wear the t-shirt, we should first think about his reasons, before jumping to 'PC conclusions'.
This article (which criticises the boycott) is quite illuminating:

We are of course entitled to an opinion, but the value of that opinion is directly proportional to the degree of fact and truth behind it.
To claim as you do that the white british are in a minority, or that black on black racism is the "worst form of racism" are hyperbolic sentiments devoid of any factual basis or truth and so are pretty worthless as an opinion - in my opinion ;)
Only those biased by a perceived victimhood status could possibly contend that either opinion had any truth.

Please don't think we're ganging up on you or anything, but can you please explain how 93.5% of the country, who are white and British-born can be a minority?
There are certainly areas of the country where that figure is much lower, but that's not what you said - you said that white British are a minority.
You're not putting that forward as an opinion. You're stating it as a fact.
I don't think the numbers stack up to support that.

." David James, the black goalkeeper, capped 53 times for England, says "the organisations which have done so much good on the terraces" now "have an agenda to keep themselves in existence. I struggle with the racist issue in football because as a player I don't see it. The game's changed."
Well said David James.

If you agree Ferdinand should be punished for not supporting 'Kick It Out', do you also think that the footballers who refused to take part in the PFA's anti-homophobia campaign should've likewise been punished?
And with regards to punishment in both cases, what do YOU think should would be appropriate?
