For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.we are now entering the next stage where politicians are piling in. Exactly how they plan to legislate against people doing 40 years ago I don't know, but it gives them an opportunity to show what highly moral people they are.
Personally I think every time a politician speaks up on a moral issue, his expenses should be listed in brackets after his name.

What concerns me is the hysteria to cast blame. If the man is guilty of the things of which he is accused, then it is too late: the man is dead and beyond human (though not divine) retribution. I dislike this culture of "someone must pay"; it's like saying that if a child abuser is dead then the owner of the house in which the abuse took place must pay because: "he/she must have, or ought to have, known what was going on". To my mind the BBC have no case to answer regarding any abuse, though their judgement may be questioned over their reluctance to make further enquiries.
