In the South West, yes. That`s about as exciting as it gets. I remember when the front page of our Devon paper was a story about how someone`s dog had savaged a bush in the local park. Another stunning headline was about a boy who wanted to stand for the local council but he couldn`t because he wasn`t 21. The papers were flying off the shelves that day, I can tell you!
'human interest' rather than straight news, perhaps, or hedgehog interest at least. Wise editors run light stories as well as heavy stuff about hurricanes and parliamentary votes. And wise reporters send them in rather than look as if they're doing nothing all day.
