And your point is?????????? Another non story!!!
That's not vanity, his PR will have planned it. He is the Prime Minister, do you expect him to cower in obscurity for fear of appearing vain?
Exactly Prudie. Anyone would think he didn't have advisers.
I can see why he'd think it was important to be seen by the world to be happy to continue working with Obama. I wonder if he was talking to an answering machine though
it's hardly personal vanity, is it? He's making it clear Britain is on friendly terms with the world's most powerful nation. (I'm not sure how true this actually is, but it seems to be the nation's vanity he's feeding, not his own.)

Why didn't he just nip over the pond and shake his hand, after all he does enjoy his 'jollies'.

Nick Clegg would have only been too pleased to managed the country, after all he gets enough practice just recently.
lol @ someone thinking Cameron is vain, especially compared to Blair.
If he'd nipped over the pond you'd be on here equating him to that Dorries woman.
well, I wouldn't say Cameron's not vain - he's got a comb-over, hasn't he? But I don't think phoning Obama is vanity, it's his job.

We're not stupid!!

Do you think it was solely his idea to release these photos? Or could it be that he was advised to do so?
Bit short of stories, are you, aog ? Politician arranges photo- op. Now, that is something new.

/// It is recording a bit of History AOG ///

No it is some photos, showing our PM on the telephone.
"Don't any of you engage your brain before typing, can't you see ..."
AOG - your moral stance re. the hostility of which you complain regularly becomes seriously shakey if you indulge in unpleasant ripostes like this - it does add flames to the fire of which you complain - being seen as hostile and unpleasant.
One of the world's most prominent nations has people whose job is to record and publish the elected leader's more significant actions.

<Vanity>?

You really don't get it do you?

Nice to see all of you giving our 'TORY' Prime Minister your full support, is Ed all that bad?
<giving our 'TORY' Prime Minister your full support>

Not necessarily

we are just appalled at the naivety, mistargeting and stupidity of the criticism
Well, at least PM talked to Obama, our gallic friends had to settle for a note, with predictable result...

AOG, //Nice to see all of you giving our 'TORY' Prime Minister your full support, is Ed all that bad?//

Honest people, regardless of their politics, recognise diplomatic gestures for what they are and give credit where credit is due. This was the right thing to do. What a ridiculous fuss over nothing!
