I suppose the sight of aog criticising a Tory PM, and the likes of me defending him, does point to some sort of disturbance in the Force.
It isn't the first set of posed workmanlike pictures he's done, PR is everything nowadays. Just look at Ed and Ed, Ed1 has had his nose taken off and flattened and stuck back on again in a bid to look and talk like a man. Ed2 has had to run a poll to see why people don't like him.

/// One of the world's most prominent nations has people whose job is to record and publish the elected leader's more significant actions. ///

"The Elected Leader's More Significant Actions" ??????????????

What being on the telephone?

You just don't get it do you?

/// Well, at least PM talked to Obama, ///

Well then I must apologise, I did not realise the conversation was also recorded for all to hear.
"You just don't get it do you?"

None of the answers on this thread agree with you so maybe it's you that doesn't get it.
That blue tie is damned boring - bet he wears boring socks too.
aog, there are photos of Obama at his desk, of him on a plane, of him on the phone, at home with the children and so forth. There are such photos of politicians all the time, aren't there? What feature of this photo of Cameron makes it an indication of vanity? How is it evidence of there being 'no end to his vanity? What makes it so extreme or unusual as to merit the question?

Or is it your argument that Obama and others are vain too, in allowing or promoting such photos, perhaps that all politicians are vain, and a photo of them , such as this, shows there is no end to their vanity? If so, why single out Cameron's?

/// if you indulge in unpleasant ripostes like this -///

Surely you can't mean this?

"Is there no end to this person's vanity"?

Surely, you can't be serious , or is this just you following your flock once again.

If you my question an "unpleasant ripostes" then read this, ,will you be taking this person to task also?

/// Just look at Ed and Ed, Ed1 has had his nose taken off and flattened and stuck back on again in a bid to look and talk like a man. Ed2 has had to run a poll to see why people don't like
him. ///

Incidentally Andy if you must use words such as "ripostes" perhaps you may care to look up their definition first.
Probably not!!!! Most leaders like David Cameron have Narcissistic personalities.
Basically its ALL about them.....They love the power....imagine this Dave oddity slime ball is in charge of a WHOLE country. His assests - loads of money.
Personality - much to be desired. Results - great austerity measures on the miserable poor. Knock on effects - Old ladies being thrown out of old peoples homes that this criminal gov has shut down. Nuff said...... Peace and Love.
Sheer & absolute egotism, please pass this link on

You may also have photos taken with your family etc, as we all do, and when politicians have them taken for world wide viewing then that is acceptable it is showing they are ordinary people who love their families.

There are also photos of them boarding or alighting from a plane, when they are going to or coming from an important visit.

There are also photos of them meeting other world leaders.

And photos of them at their desks, are also normal for future historical purposes.

But I have never known any other leader have photos taken to somehow prove to the nation and the rest of the world, that he actually phoned the US President up to congratulate him.

Where is the sense in that?

"Riposte: an effective reply" [OED] Well, you are right, aog, if your reply was not effective. I doubt that you'd agree though. Now there's a dilemma: either Andy is right and you are wrong because it was effective or you are wrong because it wasn't.
andy did help you out by quoting exactly the riposte he was talking about (yes, it is a riposte, he has used the word correctly), but it doesn't seem you read his post right through.

It was "Don't any of you engage your brain before typing", which was your riposte to me.
AOG ,poor old Dave he is damned if he does something and damned if he doesn't.He is hog tied to that prime twit Nick Clegg. Of course he should congratulate Obama and if his pr want to release a pic of him looking happy on the phone whats the problem? If you dont like it shut your eyes and turn to a new page- its only a photo.
It's not vanity, it's a picture on a non-news day.
It's a times like this I feel the world truly is one of utter confusion. Does anyone know what AOG is banging on about - and why?
Now here's what you can look like, making that phone call! http://www.shakesvill...-totally-awesome.html
is that you in the photo above him, boxy?
jno - well spotted but no, it's a complete stranger!

Yes when reading the whole of Andy's post I can now see that he was quite correct in the use of the word 'riposte' and I was wrong to assume he was referring to my Headline.

May I now take the opportunity to not only apologise to Andy, but also to thank you for pointing out my mistake?
