is there, where?

what on earth does that mean. No one knows the status of the family, and if the hospital has set up a fund for them that would help wouldn't it.
would you collect the insurance on a dead / murdered partner?

because that is how i see it.
Em you are edging towards implying if they accept this money from the Radio station, there is some loss of face or honour.

Whilst money can never compensate for a lost arm a lost leg or in this case a lost wife and mother - it can pay for a funeral, University fees and who knows maybe they may set up a scheme to help student nurses, or similar.
The hospital admitted negligence Sqad and wrote a letter of apology. I needed them to do that and to know nothing was hidden. I was told by my solicitor the maximum amount I could be awarded.
I chose not to pursue because, after eleven years, I wanted to live my life. I also didn't want to have to think about what to do with that money.
However, I will say that if I was in financial hardship my decision may have been different. Would I have stuck by my principles? I honestly don't know. Thankfully I'm secure enough not to have been placed in a position where the money was an influencing factor. I wouldn't decry anyone not in my position doing differently. x
Good gracious!!
That was to Em, sorry Gness.
Blood money? seriously em you need to get down from your high horse!

The family obviously needed money hence why she was working away from her family - those kids can now go through Uni and lead a life that may be slightly better than if they had no money!
gness....fair enough........

mamy, whilst no one knows, and may never why this poor woman decided to take her own life, if it was the last straw, the call from this radio station, why would you accept money from them.
Question Author
fgt, not any high horse, i have an opinion just as you do, we just don't happen to agree.
Sorry about this "side line"....a question that has been haunting me and perhaps ABers can answer it.......

If the family was living in Bristol, why was she nursing and living in London?
Just so I can get this clear in my mind:

Radio station tries to make reparation in the form of money for the result of their employees actions = BAD THING.
Hospital where the unfortunate woman worked and is blameless in every way sets up a fund to organise donations from around the world = GOOD THING

Are there really two kinds of money?
Question Author
no idea, except to say that maybe it was better paid than trying to find work in Bristol.
//why would you accept money from them//

Because it was offered and as the other widowed parent would be able to help my children given the reduced circumstances.
I believe I read sqad they needed the money and it was better in London.

Em would you accept compensation for a murdered partner? Would you accept insurance for a dead partner?
em..mmmm! right.
