I'm not a big fan of the Royal family, but in this instance they have absolutely nothing to be ' ashamed' of and Morrisey (aka talentless twonk) ought to shut his staggeringly absurd, washed up mouth and stop trying to involve himself in something that frankly has nothing to do with him other than giving him the opportunity to get himself a bit of publicity (...

He has long had an agenda which is anti- Monarchy. Using this tragic incident as a means of criticising the Monarchy seems unwarranted though.I would imagine it is a means for him to reclaim some publicity.....
The Royals do not subscribe to this bizarre new phenomenon in the UK where someone dies and people who hardly knew the person -or even complete strangers, have public shows of absolute grief -lay flowers at gates etc. They have issued a statement what more do you want? Kate throwing herself bereft at the hospital gates -William visiting the home of the poor nurse for a photo shoot opportunity? Kate was not ''at the centre' of anything' and in fact was a totally innocent victim as well. If anything the HOSPITAL should have issued a statement and also been held to account for the obvious lack of security surrounding such a high profile patient.
I doubt publicity-seeking has anything much to do with this; he was asked his opinion, he gave it. On the whole, I'd sooner people did so than offer fudge or say "No comment"; honesty's a good thing. But I think he's wrong.
There are going to be some almighty 'red faces' if it is found that the nurse's suicide had nothing whatsoever to do with the prank phone call.
I am not sure why his opinion is worth more than that of any other mouthy idiot.
lol. I doubt MR shares my views on this, Ummm. I doubt it comes up in many quizzing questions...

People are so afraid to say what they think, when it comes to the royal family. Good on Morrissey for standing up for what he believes it. It has nothing to do with publicity.
He's a waste of air, always has been IMO
Proof that many pop stars are ignorant cretins who will do anything to seek publicity after their star inevitably fades.
Not really, AOG.
Do you really think it would come out if it were found that she had killed herself over the pressure from the Royals? Highly unlikely.

I could chat about this all day, but have to go...

Didn't mention anything about pressure from the 'Royals' I was merely pointing out, that her suicide might not have anything to do with the phone call from Australia.

I wonder why anyone wanted to hear his opinion anyway. Did he phone the TV station or did they phone him? It isn't made clear in the article.

Don't know him or his music but what has made him so bitter? How anybody can pin the blame on Kate is beyond me; he's wrong on every count IMO.

Bluestone, I really don't think that is the case. I see and hear plenty of anti-monarchist views in the media and on this website.

And NOX, get off the fence. X
ladybirder, Morrissey appears to be touring down under.

So it's fairly normal for local media to want interviews, and for him to give them. This particular one may have got a bit off-topic; but he answered the question honestly, and that's fine with me.

Yes, and anybody that dares to criticise the people that pull the strings, is labelled "mental"...
It's either a case of Morrisey offering to give his opinion or 3 news, knowing his opinion of the Royal family, asked him to comment. Either way it was designed to cause outrage, which it has, so both Morrisey and 3 news happy.
