In my opinion, only persons who are depraved and evil to the core, could commit such acts.

It was just an 'off the cuff' topical comparison, nothing more, nothing less.
But yes in hindsight I would have been much wiser not to have made it, seeing that some have took the easy opportunity to side-track the main subject once again.
Now isn't that strange, but then not really I have been a member of Answerbank far too long not to realise that if one posts on certain subjects, side-tracking makes it all too easy to sweep certain uncomfortable subjects under the carpet, rather than openly addressing them.
No such problem with the Saville case though, oh dear we are back to him again.

I watched part of a programme a few evening ago called saving face, about an asian plastic surgeon who was treating asian women who had been badly disfigured, some beyond recognition, by their husbands throwing acid on their faces. The surgeon is trying to help the women through re-constructive surgery in getting their lives back together.
One poor woman spoke of how not only did the husband throw acid over her but another family member, i think it was his mother, doused her in petrol and set her alight, not sure how you can combat this barbarity of thought or deed, but at least some are trying to help.
